EMRP Call 2009

to advance measurement science and technology in the field of Energy

Stage 2: Call for proposals for Joint Research Projects (JRPs), with optional integrated Researcher Excellence Grant application

The deadline of 2 November 2009 for the Call for potential metrology research topics has passed. The Call is now closed.

This page and the associated documents below are for reference purposes only.

The European Metrology Research Programme uses a two stage process to identify potential priority topics and then request project proposals on those topics identified as highest priority from the metrology community, supported by other relevant players either on a unfunded basis or through a funded researcher grant system.

The EMRP Committee has selected sixteen research topics (SRTs) from the potential metrology research topics (PRTs) submitted in Stage 1. Many SRTs contain inputs from more than one single PRT as similar ideas have been combined where appropriate. These SRTs are the basis of the Joint Research Projects (JRPs) which consortia are invited to submit. It is anticipated that between 9 and 11 JRPs will be funded.

Potential JRP-Consortia must consist of a minimum of three funded partners from at least three different countries (countries participating in the EMRP). Additionally, where it is appropriate, other bodies are able to participate in the projects (without funding). A limited number of Researcher Excellence Grants (REGs) are available to the wider research community at this stage and should be applied for in association with the JRP proposal submission. Eligibility criteria for JRPs and REGs are detailed in the Eligibility criteria document.

In order to aid interested parties to express an interest in participation in a specific JRP and to make contact with others sharing this interest we have established a simple "meeting area", EMRP Connections (this web meeting area is now closed).

In the first instance, we recommend that you:

  • Check your eligibility to participate in a JRP or apply for a Stage 2 REG in the Eligibility criteria document.
  • Check the list of SRTs and read the SRT supporting documents to decide whether you want to participate. See SRTs
  • Register interest on the website EMRP Connections as soon as possible after the call opens. Late registration is likely to result in your interest being over-looked
  • Read the relevant documentation below to understand how to propose a JRP or apply for a Stage 2 REG
