| 2010-08-06 | Henny Spaan | IBS Precision Engineering | IBS Precision Engineering intends to participate as a collaborator in this project.
IBS offers to contribute to the R&D with the Isara 400 offering the possibility to perform traceable surface measurements over an area of 400 x 400 mm in a cleanroom environment. |

| 2010-07-15 | Nick Orchard | Rolls-Royce plc | Rolls-Royce has an interest in developing improvements to the way that engineering surfaces are defined and measured. We can provide industrial expertise in the engineering requirements for different types of surface, for example high performance bearings and aerofoils. We can provide samples of typical current components, and also offer facilities for testing new surfaces and measurement methods. | |
| 2010-07-06 | Paul Scott | University of Huddersfield | The University of Huddersfield has a nano-laboratory which contains areal surface texture, form (roundness), AFM, CCI, and CMM instruments.
We have developed the mathematical foundations, definitions, algorithms, and commercial code for new areal surface texture characterisation techniques. We have a well estabished Centre for Industrial Collaboration; thus we have large experience dealing with industrial problems in surface texture and other GPS problems. |
I have over thirty years experience developing the mathematics for specifying and characterising geometrical products (i.e. products defined by their geometrical size, shape, and texture) through measurement of their geometry at all scales. By taking a fundamental, more philosophical approach to the mathematics of geometrical products and the realisation that all areas of mathematics have potential utility, many new concepts and ideas have been produced: including a mathematical definition for the stability of algorithms for metrology.
I am heavily involved with the international standardisation of GPS, being convenor of two groups within ISO TC213, I have writen the ISO standards on areal surface texture. I was instrumental in the developement of the feature parameters based on pattern analysis; developing the basic mathematical definitions to commercial code. |
