2010-07-09 Markku Vainio MIKES MIKES has extensive experience of sensitive high-resolution laser spectroscopy and absolute optical frequency measurements. We have a home-built optical frequency comb (OFC) generator based on a fs-Ti:Sapphire laser, and we have developed a NIR single-frequency synthesizer based on the OFC. We are currently in the process of extending the single-frequency synthesizing capabilities into the mid-infrared region between 2.7 and 3.5 µm. The mid-infrared single-frequency synthesizer will allow accurate high-resolution measurements of absorption line positions and other parameters of several molecules.
2010-07-07 Stefan Persijn VSL -Gaseous reference materials realised trough gravimetry
-OPO based cavity ring down spectrometer (2.7-3.5 µm)
-Two spectrometers operating in the near- and mid-IR are under construction
-Two FTIR spectrometers

2010-07-02 Teresa Fernández Centro Español de Metrología (CEM) CEM has a Reference Gases Laboratory with approved CMCs for gravimetric preparation and analysis of CO, CO2, O2, C3H8, CH4, and analysis of NO and synthetic natural gas (up to 7 components). We also have set up facilities to prepare ethanol in nitrogen mixtures.

The analytical techniques currently used in the laboratory are: GC-TCD-FID, GC-HID-FID, GC-MS, FTIR and specific analysers (CO, CO2, O2, THC and NOx).

We're participating in EURAMET projects, and now we're interested in these objectives:

- Development of dilution methods for preparation of reference gas mixtures of specific atmospheric species.

- Development of traceable spectroscopic data evaluation strategies and GUM based uncertainty calculations.

- Production of traceable and high resolution spectroscopic data of key atmospheric species.
