2010-06-21	Rod Robinson	NPL	NPL have an interest in all three topic areas under this SRT For Topic 1, we have experience in mass emissions measurement including the development and validation of CO2 emissions monitoring instrumentation and methods. We are currently involved in CEN standardisation in the area of mass emissions measurement (For example, we are convening CEN TC264 WG23 volumetric flow in stacks and WG9 Quality assurance of automated measuring instruments). We have expertise in uncertainty determination in this area. To address Topic 2, we have a wide range of experience in the development and deployment of optical remote sensing technologies for the detection and quantification of fugitive emissions and have active programmes of research related to CO2 measurement. We also have capabilities in spectroscopy and atmospheric science which underpin this research. We have expertise and facilities for corrosion measurements which will support the flow measurements in Topic 3.
