2010-08-13 Eduarda Filipe Instituto Português da Qualidade CAPABILITIES: The IPQ Temperature Laboratory is responsible for the development of the national standards of temperature and relative humidity. Realizes the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS90), between the argon triple point and silver freezing point by contact thermometry, and the radiation scale by copper freezing point. The Temperature laboratory assures the traceability on temperature measurements on the range from –190 ºC to 2500 ºC and on relative humidity measurements between 10 % and 90 %, for a temperature measurement interval 0 ºC to 70 ºC.
The IPQ Pressure laboratory has a measurement capability up to 1000 MPa. Performs calibration of in oil from 0,1 MPa to 1000 MPa; in gas 3,5 kPa to 6 MPa; for vacuum meters from -10 kPa to -0,1 MPa and for manometers for absolute pressure (barometers) from 3,5 kPa to 170 kPa.
2010-07-12 Aliye Kartal Dogan TUBITAK UME TUBITAK UME has the primary and secondary laboratories for the temperature(-195 to +2600) °C and humidity with wide experience in the construction of fixed points, eutectics and reference thermocouples and calibration of thermocouples up to 1400 ºC.
UME pressure group laboratories have measurement capability up to 500 MPa and 100MPa for hydraulic and pneumatic measurements respectively. 44 primary level pressure balance piston cylinder units are used for the calibration requests.
FACILITIES:
GaIn(15°C) and GaSn (20°C) eutectic fixed points,
Liquid stirred baths for calibration of thermometers by comparison method.
2P humidity generator
Climatic chamber used for testing purposes
2 Pressure Balance For Absolute Measurements up to 0.35 MPa
1 Pressure Balance For Absolute Measurements up to 0.175 MPa
1 Digital Pressure Balance For Absolute Measurements up to 0.16 MPa
1 Barometric Chamber up to 0.16 MPa
3 Digital Quartz Pressure Barometric Gauges
2010-07-09 Radek Strnad Czech Metrology Institute ČMI has the primary and secondary laboratory for the temperature (-195 to +1700) °C, primary and secondary laboratory for pressure and secondary laboratory for humidity. CMI has the capability to provide measurement ON SITE.

2010-07-05 Dolores del Campo Centro Español de Metrología CAPABILITIES: CEM is responsible for the development, maintenance and dissemination of the thermodynamic temperature unit: the Kelvin by means of the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). Nowadays The Centro Español de Metrología realizes the ITS-90 from -189,3442 ºC (triple point of argon) up to 2500 ºC. CEM has experience in the construction and calibration of thermocouples up to 1600 ºC.
FACILITIES: Mercury columns (10 a 1 200) kPa. Absolute pressure balances (0 a 7) MPa. Liquid stirred baths for calibration by comparison thermometers (-80 ºC to- 250 ºC). Air chamber for calibration by comparison thermometers (0 ºC – 50 ºC). Climatic chamber (used for testing purposes) (-40 ºC to 100 ºC)10 %RH to 95 %RH, for td > +4 ºC.

2010-06-30 Harald Mueller Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) velocity primary standards for air speed, wind tunnel calibration facilities with different LDA standards, access to large wind tunnels with cross-sectional areas from 1 up to 11 square meters and wind test fields for LIDAR applications, wind LIDAR transfer standard development
2010-06-22 VAHIT CIFTCI TUBITAK UME UME has a wind tunnel with has 25 m long, 500x500 mm (250x250 also possible) cross sectional open-circuit suction type with two frequency-controlled aspirators. Fogy air is send via a duct to the atmosphere. Test section of the tunnel has plexiglas windows for the LDA measurements. On the system there is a 2D Laser Doppler Anemometer (LDA). LDA (5W Argon-Ion laser producing colors at 514.5 nm, 488 nm) was installed to measure and investigate gas flow rates and behavior as well as to calibrate anemometers. Downstream of the LDA test section a pitot probe is a reference sensor to measure the speed of air. The measuring range of LDA is 0.2 to 40 m/s with best measuring capability of total uncertainty Total uncertainty of LDA is %0.30 (k=2).

Also UME has micromanometer attached pitot tube

Dr. Vahit CIFTCI, obtained a BSc. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1975 and MSc. degree in Energy in 1977 from Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul-Turkey and he obtained PhD. Degree in Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics in 1983 from Strathclyde University – UK. He had worked at the Firat University – Turkey in 1983-1985 as assistant Professor. In 1985-1995, he had worked at the Glass factory in Istanbul as R&D Engineer. And finally he has been working at National Metrology Institute of Turkey (UME) as head senior researcher in the field of Fluid flow Measurement since 1995.
