2010-07-05 Steven van den Berg VSL VSL operates a home built frequency comb both for absolute frequency measurements and for distance measurement. As a participant in the i-Mera Plus project 'Absolute long distance measurement in air', VSL has generated wide experience with the frequency comb as a tool for distance measurement, which can be valuable for comb-based optical sensing in production engineering.

2010-06-21 Petr Balling Czech Metrology Institute Length laboratories of CMI have decades of experience of development of primary wavelength standards and interferometers, with using the fs comb, with 1.5m a 30m optical benches, with using and calibrating CMMs and correcting their errors.
We propose to take part in research and development of method and instrumentation for simultaneous measurement of distance and air molecular absorption (for e.g. online humidity measurement) by using fs comb radiation and Fourier transform spectroscopy. This applied research and development would follow up the outcome of more basic research done in LongDistance project and bring it closer to industrial applicability.
Concernind 3D, CMI offers Multiview measuring on the SIP CMM and Multisensor on Werth CMM, identifying and description of unknown and known objects from measured clouds of points using SPLINE.
Modeling of the measuring process with all machine motions (including error ones) using the method of coordinate system transformation.
